Application

A changeover switch is required when an electrical device, such as a lamp, needs to be switched on or off independently from two different locations or switches. It is most commonly used to control lighting in hallways, passages, or larger rooms with two entrances, such as a living room leading to the kitchen. Thus, two light switches are needed for a changeover circuit.
